What are the financial requirements for obtaining a retirement visa in Thailand with a monthly income of $600?

only if you’re not white and privileged and a card carrying member of the United Trump States of Gilead. Can’t speak for the UK but clearly I don’t know why any non Brit would wanna expatriate there anyway given the high cost of living

I think you'll find the US or UK is far better for getting mixed up with immigration issues

Thailand is the best place for getting mixed up with immigration issues. That’s why this group and tod are invaluable. We sold our house in Walnut Creek which was paid for so we have enough money to live in Thailand for about 165 years (ok I’m exaggerating a bit)

she wouldn't need to bank a baht in a thai bank IF she applies for the Non-O-A visa in the US before she wings her way here ;) She'd only need that after the second year on that visa when she would apply for an extension of stay :)

I use site a bunch. Very helpful and information is quite good. Do searches also. Very helpful and keeps tod and the boyz available for new questions that haven't been asked. then if still not sure, post your question here. I found all sorts of useful info searching first, then confirming after. Good luck. I am out of the US, never live there full time again. but, like i said, keeping my rent control apartment. great location, huge flat, great transport area (public). if i need to go to the US, I have a place. works out nicely for me.

Remember when you apply in your country before you wing your way here you don't need to bank any money in a thai bank account you use the bank account in your country to hit the financial requirements.

Also the Los Angeles consulate does accept applications by post.

You can get the Non-O-A (Long Stay) visa only from the thai consulates in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York & Washington DC.

You can't get a "retirement visa" (Non-O-A year long, multi-entry) from the thai consulate in San Fransisco
