Applied for a new passport late last week. They (US) said I would get it in 3 to 4 weeks. Left for upcountry for 3 weeks. Got Email Wednesday saying they already mailed it! Question: how long do I have to transfer the extension (marriage) to my new passport (before I get in trouble at immigration)?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the timeframe to transfer a marriage visa extension to a new passport after receiving their passport back soon after applying for it. Comments suggest that it’s best to handle the transfer before leaving the country or to do it during the next 90-day reporting, but not to delay it unnecessarily.

Hmmmm...I doubt that Thai Post will hold the passport mailing that long awaiting pickup by you before returning it to the US Embassy. Is there someone who is watching for your mail at your address? Thai Post will place a card of attempted delivery in your mailbox. You might ask a Thai friend to ask your Thai Post Office serving your address IF a friend could pick the mail up for you...with note from you and copy of current passport ???

you can email American Citizen Services at the US Embassy Bangkok. Let them know you will pick it up ??? . Their email address is on the US Embassy Bangkok website.

no, staying here. Just concerned as I wont pick it up for a couple of weeks.

A lot of people do it when they go do their next 90 day report.

BUT

with that being said I wouldn't put it off too long ;) .
