I git hospitalised with severe bacterial infection could have come from food (im very careful with food and travel to Thailand many times and spend a lot of time there. My partner is a Thai chef so we know.

But that being rushed in to hospital by ambulance cost over £200..plus pharmacy next day. A motor accident or emergency repatriation... How much do think that would cost!? 🙄

Retirement visa. Get yourself a Thai bank account. Go to a lawyer and tell them you need a bank account for future. They will produce paperwork required for 4000 tbh or less. I did this in January. They can use your hotel as an address.

I ended up in Pattaya Memorial Hospital ( private hospital) couple of weeks ago..got taken sick suddenly on arrival at a restaurant... Couldn't stop being violently sick and raging fever...in the end medics called and rushed by ambulance With a bike escort. Was seen straight away...put on IV fluids given injections and told I would be in for 3 days.. As it was private all sorted swiftly...but remember you have to pay.

That incident cost us a few hundred pounds not Tbaht.
