If you need an extension on whatever visa exemption or visa you get, just pay 1,900 Baht to a visa agent in addition to the cost of the extension.

There are some excellent nursing homes in Pattaya and in Chiangmai. I’m sorry I can’t direct you to a website, but a Google search will give you info. I think your plan is very good. Good luck. And I don’t think your relative needs more than a medical visa. The nursing homes probably can give you that info.

interesting. I’ll check again. When I looked at 60 day ME, it asked for bank record and said name on bank must match passport identically. I’ll look again.

lol that’s a whole other story. My passport name differs from my banking/married name. It’s a major endeavour at this point to change my name on my passport. It’s easier to travel on my maiden, birth given, name. But to get a tourist 60 day visa I need bank records in the same name as passport😅. Sounds like an easy thing, but it seems too complicated for the Bureaucracy to handle.

For retired people like me, 60 day visa exemption is perfect. I guess if it goes back to 30, we’ll just have to add a 30 day extension. We spend at least 2 months in each country. Sad to see things change, but seems inevitable.

we did a 30 day extension with agent in Pattaya. Agent took us into immigration and took our pic.

I’d like to do 6 month visa too. But thought I had to have an online type of employment or school enrolment.

We had our 30 day extension done by an agency right next to Immigration on Soi 5. Office right in back of cafe/coffee shop. I believe its name is Thai Visa 2. Easy to find at any rate. Their cost was 1900 Baht plus the 1900 Baht extension cost. We got right in, walked to front of line of people waiting. Plus we didn’t have a TM 30 and they took care of everything. Totally worth the money for the time savings.
