Cars are expensive in Thailand .

You have worked out actual cost well , cars are expensive always look at actual cost and depreciation, the cost will be similar in Thailand , depending very much on which area you decide to reside .

@Jenny ***
The time frame would not be a problem , but they are going to need the passport that's where the Visa has to go ! So I'd certainly be wary of that .

Wise , but it must be to a Thai bank account , then no ATM fees ..

You need reentry for the Kingdom in general 1k for one yes , 4.3k for multiple , no difference where you report , it's an exit visa ..I always buy one on renewal .

and that's exactly why I'd report on the 11 th , then I know I'm due in another 90 days , simple and don't have to worry about any of the other stuff .

That being said reporting is very easy for me , so it's hardly an issue , takes 5 mins .

When I do like this , I just report immediately when I fly back in , go on Jan 11 th ( or 12 th ) and your 90 days starts again from there , far far easier than trying to work out otherwise .

I always do it early , 3 months early , I do Feb it expires in May , but I just like to get it done ..

Which makes the entire concept even more ridiculous, why throw 10 k a month down a drain , it's just a systematic , legal , deception , exactly why Warren Buffett likes buying insurance companies ..complete waste of money .

Avoid altogether if you can , if you can't buy the absolute least expensive .

Why would you possibly want to spend 10k a month on absolutely nothing ? Because quite frankly that's what you'd be purchasing , he appreciates pre existing will not be included , it's all a giant web of deception , if he/ she " has " to have something , consider it a tax and why the cheapest .

This " friend " would be completely wasting their money either way , best to avoid altogether .
