Wow! I feel for you if that’s the process in Bangkok. That reaffirms my desire to live in a distant province. The most time I’ve ever spent at immigration is 30 minutes. That includes the times I had to get residence certificates.
Like you, I am getting 4 to 5% in America. Whenever I need Baht, I transfer to my Thai account. Keep the bulk of the money in America and transfer when needed. I usually transfer about once a month, but I follow the exchange rate daily to choose the best time to move money.
I have had 4 different rental addresses in 2 provinces-Surin and Udon Thani. In all cases, the landlords were not familiar with the requirements. Since technically the TM30 is supposed to be filed within 24 hours of occupancy, I did it myself, right or wrong. I always filed personally at immigration to avoid any backlash. I asked the landlords to provide a copy of their ID card and a copy of their proof of property ownership. I had them sign and date each copy, and I filled out the form myself, along with my personal information. Never had a problem.
Do you happen to know if using tax returns for proof of income, is the 80k based on gross income or adjusted income after deductions and exemptions? Also, can one person use the income of joint tax returns if married?
Congratulations on your approval for the LTR Visa. Quick couple of questions: If using tax returns for proof of income, is the 80k based on gross income or adjusted income after deductions and exemptions? Also, can one person use the income of joint tax returns if married?
Yes, you can get 10 year for just one member. The 20 year for 1,000,000 is a good value but you don't have as many benefits. The 20 year with full benefits will cost you double that.
