not in Nakhon Phanom!! Had to get LTD to get my last one fir driving license.

I opened an account at the main branch of Bangkok Bank in Nakhon Phanom quite recently. It was on my fourth attempt as I had been declined twice and told the same as you once and I wasn't prepared to do it. On the fourth attempt I eventually got accepted after they made phone calls and checked my Visa extension. They also wanted to see Visa in my old passport. They insisted on selling me insurance but I remained firm and showed them my certificate already purchased elsewhere. I opened account with 500 baht. I was surprised but persistence paid off. I beleive I am right in saying that if it is not possible to report tm30 at local immigration you can do it at your local Police station if you are realy worried. The Police station is most likely manned during the holidays.

I've never had a problem with Air Asia. They even credited me with more than the cost of a flight they cancelled and there was a later flight the same day which I took. The staff at kop and dmk have always been very helpful.

Wear as many clothes as possible and put them in carry on bag after check in.

My carry on was 7.5 kg on one occasion and they wanted 1000 baht. Fortunately I could leave some behind in my car. Make sure your power bank is below the allowed capacity or you wont be allowed to take it. They have never weighed or counted the weight of my waist bag which has sometimes been around 1kg. Take clothes etc you can leave behind to give you more carry on capacity. My flights have always been between kop, dmk and Phuket. Have a good trip.
