Hi. I have a question regarding TM30. My friend will be arriving in Thailand to on Friday 28 July in the morning and it’s national holiday in Thailand followed by a weekend (immigration office close on weekends). Keeping in view the rule of reporting to immigration within 24 hours of arrival, would that be fine if we go for reporting on Monday July 31? Please advise. Thank you in anticipation.

Note: the landlord is not available for such things - neither physical nor for online reporting. He provided all the documents and I always have to do it by myself and I am ok with that.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about reporting the TM30 form for a friend arriving in Thailand on July 28, considering that the immigration office will be closed on the national holiday and weekend following their arrival. The community clarifies that while the official rule requires reporting within 24 hours, enforcement can be lenient if reporting is delayed due to holidays. It is suggested that reporting can be done online or at a police station, especially since the immigration office will be closed until August 3. Furthermore, if the friend's stay is short and there are no extensions planned, some community members argue that it may not be necessary to report the TM30 at all.

no REAL need to go to the police station. As long as it is done at some point. But if it is a short stay, he could probably get away without doing one.

Hello,

No Problem in Pattaya/Jomtien.

My daughter arrived June 2023.

I was at the Immigration 3 days later (weekend and special day).

If the office is closed, so the office is closed.

Why report to immigration with in 24 hours? Never hear from that before. If thats a rule damn it would be busy at immigration 🀣

@Martin ****
your hotel or homeowner is supposed to do it.

The police staion is the backup, yes, If you walked into a police station to do this in Central Bangkok they would laugh at you and tell you to go to CW, 555

I beleive I am right in saying that if it is not possible to report tm30 at local immigration you can do it at your local Police station if you are realy worried. The Police station is most likely manned during the holidays.

No, the landlord is required by law to report any foreign guest within 24 hours of arrival at the property , it's called a TM30 form

not Thai people.

Go ahead and make a fool of yourself. A couple of thousand people arrive in pattaya every day. Nobody reports at immigration buddy. Wake up and smell the coffee
Nick ************
@Martin ****
and every one of them should be reported by the place they are staying whether a hotel or private residence. Now who is the fool?

@Martin ****
the hotels report them, thats why guests have to let the hotel copy the passport,

he is right tho if you want a extension or 90 days report you need the TM 30 , I Thai elite and I cannot do my 90 days without the TM 30
Wayne *********
If not doing an extension don't stress about the TM30

1 and 2 August are buddhist / also no alcohol holidays, effectively making this coming weekend a 6 day weekend for government offices. If you are registered for the on-line TM-30 app (hotels use this too), you can report that way or alternatively use the section 38 mobile app, no need to go to immigration if you can use either of those. If your guests don't plan to extend their stay, I wouldn't even bother with this. TM-30 online reporting link below

No immigration closed till the Wednesday 3rd August

the third is Thursday.

Should not be any issue. Most Immigrations are not that restrictive on the 24-hour rule, and no one will ask you to do something not possible because of weekend or public holidays.

Actually they just announced today that the 31st is also a holiday. So the earliest you can go is August 3rd.

But immigration is going to be crazy that day so if you need to go I would go on August 4th. Immigration doesn't need to know when your friend arrived. Just mark down that he arrived that day and will be staying at your location. No problem.

But also if your friend is only staying with you short term and then going somewhere else, or if your friend will be leaving Thailand without ever needing to go to immigration for applying for an extension, you don't really need to worry about it at all since they'll never need proof of TM30.
