that the most unfair unsense and stupid that many embassy do , ask u for paid tickets when u don't have the visa yet , better u just try to get a booking without pay it , thai airways is one that u can make a booking and pending the payment , may be there are another ones but i can not find ,not easy to find that....

Already success transfer stamp to new passport in MUANGTHON THANI in tourist visa section (3rdfloor) , absolutely no qeue here , my friend in chaengwattana tried today same but with a plus problem , she lose the TM.6 white paper and can not do it , anyway the officer suggest her even with all documents better try in M.T. ...

we need transfer to new passport as she want apply for another visa , just called 1178 they said both places (C.W.and M.T.) are ok to do this ,..couple months ago in chaeng wattana they said like you said to me (i am same condition as my wife) but after in muang thon thani no problem to do it ,even to leave thailand is better have this stamp in new passport ,as they can request it in airport and then u need to do in airport at your departure and waste time!!!!
