The first thai liscence you get is called a temporary license it lasts 2 years,then you get a 5 years one after that,A few years ago the first license only lasted for 1 year.

you will find that if you have an accident and don’t have correct papers you may find you may end up in the Bangkok Hilton.

get someone to go to the posty and take a copy of your driving licence and maybe a copy of your passport. I can't remember exactly what my family member took
