No, the branch did not tell me anything about calling the call center. I find most CSR’s in the bank here have no idea what their employers policies are.

first lets talk banking.

-Did you have foreign deposited 800k baht in a bank 2 months before applying for your first 12 month extension. Or did and agent arrange the money in the bank for you?

-Did you keep the 800k baht in the bank for the 3 months after the extension was granted. And no less then 400k for months 4 through month 10 and bring back up to 800k for months 11 and 12?

-can you show a minimum of 65k baht foreign deposits in a Thai bank each and every of the 12 months. (I did this in a separate bank account to keep things clean and organized for Thai immigration)

If you ate planning to renew on the basis of 65k baht per month deposits you will need a letter from the bank certifying that the 12 deposits came from your home country. And also 12 month statement certified by the bank the day you are going to immigration to apply for the renewal.

Note: I maintained both bank method in case the 65k method did not work for some reason.

If you are extending a non-o then you do not need proof of insurance. Only the non-oa and non-ox require insurance.

- do you have a lease, proof of permanent residence.

- done the required TM-30’s and TM-47’s

If all of this is true then I would recommend you do it yourself. It is not that complicated and I found the immigration officers to be helpful.

The on thing I forgot was they want a hand drawn map of directions to your home. So I had to do it on the fly when at immigration

Hope this is helpful

Same thing for me. Was higher before and I was instructed to come in and verify biographic (take a photo). Made no difference

agree 100%, I have been here three years but if I was starting today this is exactly what I would do.

I would apply for the NON-O visa and not the NON-OA visa which has additional requirements.

@Matthew ********
that figures. I went to AIS first and got the ladder that AIS said I would need for the bank. Went to K bank and they said don’t you have an online statement? This letter is not what we need.. I showed them the online statement on my phone and it was all good

I am using the 12 monthly method for extension renewals. At my last renewal, June this year at immigration in Bangkok I was told next year I will need a letter from the bank certifying that my 12 monthly deposits were transferred from my home country..

In my opinion non-oh is the way to go. Because the insurance that’s approved for the long away is not that great. So with a no, no, you can come to Thailand and select the insurance you really want.

good answer! This is exactly what I did and just renewed ny extension on the ฿65,000 monthly deposit method June 2025.

Note: the immigration officer advised the guest switching to this method. Reason was because if I missed one monthly payment, I will have to start over again and I will need to have ฿800,000 to deposit.

Additionally, they stated that next year I must have a letter from the bank that identifies each of the 12 monthly deposits as coming from my home country. This is not the same letter that certified balance for the ฿800,000 method.
