I inquired yesterday at private hospital in Kalasin and they could not even give me an estimate on when a vaccine will be available

I’ve had, and still have, a Skype number for years and found it useful especially when a foreign phone number is not accepted. But again I don’t know how that compares to other options. Just tossing it out there.

I had no problem changing in county at local immigration office. They will try and talk you out of it saying it’s no different, more paperwork for them to process. But I found based on marriage to a Thai carried more weight getting back into Thailand during this pandemic

Yep. Last year same officer had me return to the bank for another letter because the bank didn’t list the monthly balances on the letter. Even though copies of the bank booked proved the balances. 🤦‍♂️🤣

I understand this officer is the big boss now. Just gotta make sure we’re in compliance. It’s an inconvenience for the extra efforts and trips especially during this pandemic craze, but in the end I know I exceed the requirements.

My last extension needed to be “reviewed”. Said they would call for me to return. 3 weeks later I was called in to bring an updated copy of my bank book and another letter from the bank, then another wait. 3 trips to immigration. Reason was, “many farangs trying to cheat the system”

This particular officer seems to dig deep. Even the Thai parking attendant knows. Says many farangs having to make multiple trips.

I understand it is their job to make sure we abide by the requirements set forth, but I have never given them a reason to question me. 🤷

I had same issue a few years back due to flight change. 1day overstay. Fee was waved and had no issue on return. I think it’s more an issue if you “caught” outside on a passport check.

Best wishes. Hope your journey will be uneventful considering all the barriers

could be different now. I’m on the “retirement” visa with annual extensions. Was told this by immigration several years ago. I needed to stay out for work for an extended period also so I went in to inquire. Said if I don’t return within the 90 day time period would as though I abandon my visa. 🤷

You’ll need an exit/reentry permit, return before 90 days, then pending the covid situation on return: no expert but been traveling in snd out for quite a few years.
