Hi, I have a question. From my last trip to Thailand, I have a stamp in my passport that I have overstayed just 1 day because of my flight. I would like to fly back this year with visa exemption and I´d like to extend it for another 30 days when in Thailand. Do you think it´s gonna be ok for me and for Thai officers or could I have a potential problem at the airport or when trying to extend this type of visa? Thanks for any advice.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus among users is that a one-day overstay in Thailand should not pose significant problems upon re-entry or when applying for a visa extension. Many individuals have reported similar experiences, stating that they were not penalized or faced issues despite having an overstay stamp. However, there are varying experiences with immigration officers, meaning some discretion may be exercised. Overstays of less than 24 hours are usually considered leniently by Thai immigration. As for further visa applications like the elite visa, it was noted that more significant past overstays might complicate the process, but minor overstays are typically overlooked.
