@Michael ********
at the moment you can indeed apply for a "1-year Non-Imm-O/A visa based on being over 50" and the CoE at the embassy Berlin and the two general consulates Frankfurt and Munich in Germany. However you will have to fulfill all those added requirements, though. One of it is the documented (!) financial proof (65,000 THB or 800,000 THB) and the health insurance full coverage. These are listed on the webpage of the Munich consulate ("thaiconsulate dot de") In order to be able to apply, you need to void your existing Non-Imm-O Extension by leaving Thailand WITHOUT a re-entry permit

that depends . .only if they tucked a new slip into his passport. If they left the old slip in there, it still counts

@David ********
no, they don't. A Thai insurance company from the approved list, does not have to sign the "foreign insurance certificate"

so just a reminder, after November 26th you won't receive another 60-days family visit extension, if this is what you are planning . . you can MAYBE get another 30-days amnesty extension. Maybe!

and you can only get one 60-day family visit extension per Entry/per visa/per year . . after the 26 th of November nobody knows if you will be able to go on amnesty until November 30, winning you just 4 more days, or not . . . .

11 days left . . . go to Immigration ASAP because you might need some time if they ask for some documents you do not hold atm. Don't wait until the last minute

"our" ? I presume you might be a married foreigner couple, one of you has the EOS based on retirement, and the other is going "piggyback" on the partner's Extension ? Then just follow up as usual, financial requirements plus the usual documentation. Nothing has changed for you so far

some Immigrations might not accept the birth certificate as sole proof, but ask for the written "family court decision" as proof that you are the legal parent

please allow me to put facts right . . . . . . because even the Immigration of Thailand is using the wrong wording

Nobody does "renew a visa". Nobody does "extend a visa"

Those foreigners already in the country on amnesty ALL are here on already EXPIRED Tourist Visa.

Immigration cannot and never did "renew" any visa.

The only thing Immigration did in the past and still does, is EXTENDING a permit of stay, by a stamp in the passport.

A “visa” is a sticker one received abroad on any Thai Embassy or Consulate. A “visa” allows to enter a country. Then one is stamped an “admitted stay” according to that visa class.

An “admitted until" stamp is NOT a “visa”. It is a “permit of stay”. And any extension given there from is an “extension of stay permit” and is NOT a "renewed visa" . . . .The little handwritten note on the right upper corner of the “admitted until” stamp, that sometimes reads “Non-O” or “Non-RE” or “TV”- it only tells the Immigration officer, out of which visa class the first “permit of stay” i.e. the entry, was originally stamped

UK citizens can fly back via Helsinki, Doha, Vienna, Zuerich, Amsterdam etc. SINCE 6 months, . .so getting a letter from the UK embassy stating that there are no flights, is a lost cause for many
