Morning all, since i am still a bit confused, hopefully will get some answers here.

Came to Thai with a "Non Imm B" 10 years ago. Every year i got a extension of stay based on employment. Extension of stay changed this year in July to based on retirement with multiple entrys.

So far so good.... If i leave Thailand now, i am able to come back ?

Thanks a lot, Mike

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about re-entering Thailand after leaving the country while holding a 'Non Imm B' visa that has recently transitioned to a retirement-based extension. Responses indicate that currently, individuals on retirement extensions are not on the approved list for re-entry to Thailand. Although a re-entry permit is typically required, during the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the situation remains uncertain, and users are advised to consult local Thai embassies or relevant platforms for updated information. The discussion underlines the necessity to stay informed regarding changes in immigration policies amidst travel restrictions.

I'm shutting this down. This is turning into a "how can I enter Thailand" post.

As of right now, this group is not answering questions about people who are overseas, or who would like to return to Thailand. IF you are overseas, either ask your local Thai embassy about how to enter Thailand, or search Facebook for the Farangs stranded overseas groups.

Don't forget, the information on the various Thai embassy websites may be translated from Thai, and mistranslations do occur between Thai and English/German.

Also, if you leave Thailand, expect to be outside of Thailand for some time.

Good luck!

Do you have 800k in your Thai bank account?

... Sure, otherwise i wouldn't have gotten my extension of stay based on retirement

Normally I think you just need to get a re-entry permit from your IO before you leave. Not sure about right now with Covid restrictions though.

he will have to jump through many hoops, but it is absolutely doable, since September 29th and with the beginning of half-commercial flights to Thailand since October 15th. Some Germans have already successfully received the CoE and the Non-O/A visa and have arrived in ASQ quarantine now in Bangkok

He mentions he has a re-entry permit but sadly that's not gonna help him get back in at this time..

They are NOT allowing people on extensions of stays based on retirement to apply for permission to enter the country. :/

here is the updated checklist for new applicants for the CoE and the Non-Imm-O/A visa . . . . . (in German) . . . .

he can return to Germany and later at any time apply for the "1-year Non-Imm-O/A vbased on retirement", on the embassy Berlin or one of the main consulates Frankfurt and Munich only. It is doable and allows applicants to receive the CoE for entering Thailand. I guess he first needs to make his existing extension "void" by leaving Thailand WITHOUT a re-entry permit, though. And then follow step-by-step all requirements

Nope, at this time you can't. People who are on yearly extensions of stays based on being over 50 are NOT on the approved list of people who can request permission to enter thailand.

There is NO indication on when/if they will change that, SO I'd say while you can definitely leave thailand on a yearly extension based on retirement with a re-entry permit, what you're not gonna do is get back in any time soon on it.

AND once they do allow retirees on yearly extensions to enter you'd have to follow the entry procedures in place at that time to get in.

.... Thx Tod, quite clear. Just a mind game, let's say i leave Thai, get in my home country (Germany) a

O-A orO-X visa, would i entitled to come back (sure, incl all the actual entry procedures)

at the moment you can indeed apply for a "1-year Non-Imm-O/A visa based on being over 50" and the CoE at the embassy Berlin and the two general consulates Frankfurt and Munich in Germany. However you will have to fulfill all those added requirements, though. One of it is the documented (!) financial proof (65,000 THB or 800,000 THB) and the health insurance full coverage. These are listed on the webpage of the Munich consulate ("thaiconsulate dot de") In order to be able to apply, you need to void your existing Non-Imm-O Extension by leaving Thailand WITHOUT a re-entry permit

Georg, guess will get problems to get my criminal record whats is required, since i am NOT registered in Germany anymore

@Michael ********
You would need to know what the entry requirements are when you are wanting to come back and you would need to meet them AND no you wouldn't be "entitled" to come back at all. You could apply for permission to enter the country based on holding an approved visa type that is allowed to apply to get back in. AND by meeting the requirements in place at that time to get in.

@Kristina ********
and I would look at that link for what reason?

. In theory you could. And you could be waiting a long time. Unless your reason to leave is extremely important, I'd suggest you stay.
