Hi, sorry if this has been asked its a bit of a minefield at the moment. This is last minute for a real reason.

I came in on a 30 day visa exemption stamp and have never extended this. The questions is can i do a 30 day extension? and if so.

1. Is this CW or MTT

2. Can i just show up?

3. Is it like a normal extension tm30 or do i need extra things like the letter from embassy.

Looks like I will have to leave but leaving by saturday is going to be impossible.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their 30-day visa exemption in Thailand. They have never extended their visa before and need to know if they can obtain a 30-day extension at the immigration office (MTT), what documents are required (including an embassy letter), and if they need to make an appointment for the extension. Respondents clarified that an embassy letter is necessary, along with specific documents such as passport copies and a fee, and advised on the booking process.

I can't imagine this post having much more value. You have until Friday to figure out a way to either get an extension of stay, OR to leave Thailand.

I'm closing comments. If there's more to add, send a mod a message and we'll reopen the post. Good luck!

The British embassy has been issuing letters in support of extention. Several people receiving then on Koh Tao last week. Issued day after applying.

UK citizens can fly back via Helsinki, Doha, Vienna, Zuerich, Amsterdam etc. SINCE 6 months, . .so getting a letter from the UK embassy stating that there are no flights, is a lost cause for many

If you fit situation 1 or 2 you need to ask for the UK embassy letter today and hope you get it issued early, takes upto 5 working days.

I don't know what a "normal extension TM30" is, however, you need an embassy letter. To get a 30 day extension on amnesty, you will need the following documents:

1. Your passport.

2. Copies of: (sign each page)

a. Data ("picture") page

b. A copy of the page with visa exempt stamp

c. A copy of the departure card

d. A copy of embassy letter

e. A copy of your entry stamp

3. ONE passport photo (only handed one photo. Others have said 2 is needed. )

4. 1,900 THB fee (be sure to hand it separate from you stack of papers or they will drop it.)

5. A form acknowledging the overstay penalty. They will provide this.

6. TM 7

7. Proof of an appointment booking online. Vital.
