ok well look at the multiple entry visa, as I say it has more hoops to get it, you have to show multiple months of bank statements etc, see the rules

you can also if you wish get a single entry tourist visa which gets you 60 plus 30 days by extension, there is less hoops to go through to get the single entry and you can also apply via the Thai Consulate in Hull, just google for their website as they are very easy to deal with

Adam Darrah: If it’s a visa exemption it’s 10k. A tourist visa is 20k. I think its the other way around

@Jay *****
how long did it take? I go to HK a few times a year and this could be useful, thanks
Ray *****
Maybe it is harder up country but I got a Krungsri account opened in Bangkok a couple of months ago with no Visa at all, just the 30 day stamp and a copy of my lease
Ray *****
what paperwork did you require for the SETV? and what are the costs please

surely a visa advice group can only give best advice within the local laws, otherwise it would be a pretty useless group. Sure people will always act outside of the laws and that is of course their decision but I for one am happy to get clear advise based on the current laws

apologies, I guess as i was just flying back to UK that is why they took it off me
Ray *****
maybe if you get a police report and call immigration they could maybe extend? sounds a hard one though

sadly it may be the only way, lost mine before and went back to UK, when you arrive in UK the passport control take the emergency travel document off you, so you can only go to passport office and get a new one
