Does anyone actually know the rules of flying International from UK during this lockdown? It is for long term duration not just a holiday. So many different answers online.

Yep, you can still travel abroad but you need a valid reason, ie work, family etc. Holidays/tourism wont cut it.

Regarding insurance, it is only invalid if the FCO advises against travel to the country you are travelling to, otherwise you are good to go

I'm aware people are still flying which is why it is so confusing. the Government website says strictly Essential travel only. Technically mine is not Essential but I'm not just going on holiday.

careful with your insurance if insurance from UK they may make it null and void as they say essential travel only.

Check or get one from Thailand.

I travel all over for work and been loads of places "only essential travel" never once been asked and i used to work based out of UK so normally left from there
