most DTV applicants are likely not ‘remote’ workers or engaged in any activity for the visa etc blame the Thai government until then let it run

I think immigration will flag the glaring issues, the visa category will exist but the requirements will tighten and evolve with time etc it won’t make bureaucracy sense if all other visa category are being cannibalized etc

DTV is treated as a tourist visa - you will need to pay a agent to open a bank account or go from bank to bank until one says yes
