when I hear in July the immigration certificate was not a requirement. When I came in September the same bank lady said I need this. 500 bhag and 30 minutes in immigration. Sorted

it’s not difficult. But I did have help from my gf who is fluent in Thai and English. The staff at bank and immigration centre, not that good English.

. In some cases you can open a bank account with tourist visa , but to do it thru the right channels you need a non O visa. If you have all the right docs this can be done on line in a few days. It changed in about August and you need letter from immigration . Are you from Uk. ? Ps I tried on a visit visa and was turned down 3 banks. My gf has cousin in bank she said just can’t do it

yes. I am 65 and done mine in September 24. When you in Thailand at bank and immigration if you have Thai gf or friend who speaks Thai and English this will help, as staff not always speak English.

You need a 90 Non O visa to start with from London embassy, when you here with the Non O visa you can get Bank account, ( you need letter from immigration, quite easy ) then you can open bank account, Then deposit

0 bhat , you then apply for a 12 month visa, you need report every 90 days after you have this ( can be done on line )

Not sure if this helps , my gf who got visa for Uk, she had interview in Bangkok . It’s an agency. And the interviewer and all of them are Thai nationals, not sure if this is same with USA ?

Bring in suitcase 30k max. Don’t think you can Take battery’s. But they available here , that’s what I did.
