yes, but it's not available for all nationalities and the funds requirements are really huge, I think 3m baht with a year seasoning. Not sure who they want to target with this kind of visa.
Winning a permanent residency, as far as I know. Otherwise you still have to check with immigration every year for extensions, do 90 days reports and so on.
yes you can visit your home land, you just go to your immigration office, file a TM8 and get a re entry permit (can be a single entry for 1k baht or a multiple for 3.8k baht). There's no limit to the amount of yearly extensions you can do as long as you comply with all the requirements (proof of funds in a Thai bank, insurance,, and so on)
my TM30 slip. Notified on Mar 23, 2020 after back from Jakarta. I have been to many places in Thailand ever since and never notified again. I extended my Visa last year in June and extended again 2 days ago. I also got a certificate of residence when I changed my car last Jan (TM18 needs TM30 here). All smooth.
You need a certificate of residence. You should go immigration and file a TM18. PS I was asked to produce a TM30 receipt notification in Samut Prakan and I don't know the requirements in Pattaya.
Back in 2017 at Chinese Embassy in BKK, they told me I had to wait at least 10 days, so I had to give up. A few months later I had to go to China again and I got it in 24 hours but I was under a Non-O Visa this time and I took my TM47 form along. Maybe something changed now so don't take this for granted.
