TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the merits of AXA and Tune insurance for expats in Thailand, highlighting that AXA is preferred for claims support, especially concerning COVID-19 coverage and additional services like broker support. While some participants recommend Tune for its ease and potentially lower cost, they warn that it lacks coverage for motorcycle incidents. Recommendations suggest consulting brokers for personalized help, particularly in light of recent changes to insurance policies in Thailand.

Always remember one thing in life.

"YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"....Buy Cheap,Get Cheap....TRUE.
Greg *******

@Darren ********
I had food poisoning last year and was hospitalized for one night. Paid up front and reimbursed in about three weeks, 100%. No complaints.

that’s good to know. I see a lot of people commenting on some of the insurance companies not wanting to pay when a claim is made. Most notably AXA and Luma/Tune. Maybe it’s only the Covid related claims.
Joseph *********
@Darren ********
It's a gamble with any company. But that's just my experience. Good luck!

Jenny Rose Punio thanks for clarifying that Jenny.

@Greg ******
what do you mean Luma only game in town?
Greg *******
@Darren ********
AXA policy on Tuesday becomes worth something only if you are almost dead. No symptoms or hospitel is no longer covered with new AXA policies.

All other Thai policy are the same except luma if the Dr orders it.

@Greg ******
thanks. Doesn’t the insurance company help when you make a claim? What can the broker do that you can’t do yourself? Just curious.
Lisa ********************
@Darren ********
be aware Luma don't cover for motorbike accidents. Good for Covid cover for TP. But maybe take out extra travel insurance to cover bike accidents. AXA and ACS do.

many people posted they could not contact their insurance company, when they needed to claim. Not answering calls, or responding to emails. But a broker will do all this for you, at no extra cost to you.

AXA. My wife is a broker and can help get a good health plan with full covid insurance and Thailand pass friendly. Feel free to PM me
Adam ******
@Alessandro *********
or anyone can simply do it themselves by clicking a few buttons and filling in their details.
Alessandro **********
@Adam *****
not advisable unless you are looking for a travel insurance. If you need a plan for a long stay in the kingdom it's still better to have someone you can talk face to face. Or you can opt for the ultimate solution, marry an insurance agent 😀
Stephen ********
@Alessandro *********
Not a bad plan…
Greg *******
@Adam *****
but I want to have someone to fight for me when I want to claim. Same price. I go with the broker.

Kay ***********
@Darren ********
when I purchase with Tune, they reply super quick and efficiency.

But when I claim , they promise to call me back. But they don’t.

And email take much long ..

Before you buy and after you buy attitude very different
