She can buy the cheapest ticket she finds, there are flights about 1000 baht to KL. Even she doesn't use, is not too much money.

Anyway, ask your landlord if he already reported your staying. And have a look to this link...

Inmigration is coming to Pai this wednesday, come and visit us and do your extension here, hehe... Sounds a little bit strange, there are many tourist coming with visa exemption entry or SETV, and many of them are travelling around the country two days here, two days there and so, and they get extensions without any problem. So, for example, if you are a tourist that arrive just now to Chiang Mai, check in a hotel and go tomorrow to Promenade for your extension... do you need the TM30? may be after tomorrow you follow your travel to Chiang Rai or other places. I think they ask the TM30 for other kind of visas, but not tourist extensions... but who knows, this is Thailand.

Still the same,

, in our last extensions we never show any TM30, at least at Mae HongSon office, just write the correct adress of our house, no worries about that. They don't ask that for tourist visa extensions.

I can confirm. I did two border bounces last year and one more just yesterday at Mae Sai, no problem.

Not only in Melbourne, if you check other consulates around the world, all of them have the same mistake.
