Can someone give me some advice on border runs. I did 2 border runs in 2017, my last border run was in November.

Can I do 2 more border runs now in 2018 or do I need to wait until November when a full year has passed to be able to do a border run again.

At immigration in Chiang Rai after extending my 2 month holiday visa was told that I could do the border run again. Just want to be totally sure because the language barrier is always a problem so not sure they understood my question properly.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of completing two additional border runs in 2018 after having completed two in 2017. Comments clarified that the limit on visa-exempt land entries resets each calendar year, allowing for two border runs within that year. Therefore, the user can indeed proceed with two more border runs.

I can confirm. I did two border bounces last year and one more just yesterday at Mae Sai, no problem.

The 2x limit on visa exempt land entries re-sets on Jan 1. At least until they change the rules again :-)
