Well, i was there today total of 5 hours๐๐ But it was super busy. And, exactly when i was gona go inside and wait for my passport to be finished they closed for lunch an hour between 12-1๐ค๐ But all is good๐๐
It is because of the volume of dodgy people perhaps....Yes I had to do one on a tourist exemption stamp last month. It is not too bad....3 hours in and out....
Chaing Mai was the first immigration office to resurrect the TM30 rule. The latest I'm reading is they have relented on requiring a TM30 for those extending a 30 day visa exempt entry but are strict on the rules for those people extending actual visas and require the TM30
Ok. Thank you for providing the info. I had no idea they had become this strict about that. In the past when iv done an extension i just wrote down the place where i stayed and no questions asked
Cristopher Svensson So you need the above (if same as Pattaya.....again I don't know as all offices are different).
For TM30..Copy of passport data page, TM6 departure card, arrival stamp and visa. 1 photo. Copy of House registration (Blue book) and ID card of the house owner. They will give you the form there to complete.
For extension....Then submit a copy of the TM30 slip (you receive) and apply for your visa extension as normal with 1 photo.
Inmigration is coming to Pai this wednesday, come and visit us and do your extension here, hehe... Sounds a little bit strange, there are many tourist coming with visa exemption entry or SETV, and many of them are travelling around the country two days here, two days there and so, and they get extensions without any problem. So, for example, if you are a tourist that arrive just now to Chiang Mai, check in a hotel and go tomorrow to Promenade for your extension... do you need the TM30? may be after tomorrow you follow your travel to Chiang Rai or other places. I think they ask the TM30 for other kind of visas, but not tourist extensions... but who knows, this is Thailand.
, in our last extensions we never show any TM30, at least at Mae HongSon office, just write the correct adress of our house, no worries about that. They don't ask that for tourist visa extensions.
In case you want extension or any other immigration service they may want to see your TM.30 if you don't represent it 1600thb fine for you (basically for the hotel/condo owner) but in your case you will pay.
yes. if you stayed at hotel/condo the owner/manager must register you as guest there. if you stay at friend's place must go with him to immigration to be registered. the point is to know where the ALIEN is all the time and to report on every time you change location even from hotel to condo and etc..
