I did but it's not necessary. Sriphat is the private part of the government hospital. Thai use that service also if they don't want to wait. Everyone speaks English. But I had gone on my own two years prior for a consult with another doctor on staff. Most doctors in CM work alternating at both government and private hospitals. There is an automatic mark-up of I think 25% for foreigners at the government hospitals. Everything is itemized prior to surgery so you know the cost. I chose to stay longer for a week as I was by myself and because it was like staying in a hotel.

I had hernia surgery in Chiang Mai a year ago at Suan Dok (Sriphat), the CMU government teaching hospital. Cost which included a week in a brand new suite was ฿80,000. Exceptional care.

Looking at the police order the first item states must have been granted a non-immigrant visa. Since I will be doing an extension I won't have a non-immigrant visa, correct? I wonder if this is what the visa agency was referring to. He said if it was a first application (from a non-o) then it would only be two months. Am I getting caught up in semantics? Really need to be sure. Thanks again!

That is what I had remembered. Thanks so much! I'm assuming it does not make a difference whether it is a first extension of stay or a third the way that is worded. The visa company was saying 2 months only applies to the first extension.
