I am currently in the US. Question concerns OA Visa from Los Angeles. If I apply and am approved, when does that visa become valid? At the time of issue or upon entry to Thailand. Currently I am scheduled to return to Thailand after July 1. This question concerns mandatory insurance and the timing of my return. If I returned prior to July would that make any difference? I know things are up in the air right now so nothing is definite in the rules. I also have seasoned required funds in a Thai bank so could also get a 90 day O here and then convert to extension of stay. Trying to make the best choice for someone well over 70. Thanks.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The OA Visa validity begins upon entry to Thailand, not at the time of visa issue. If you return prior to July 1, it will not change the validity date of the visa itself, but may affect your compliance with the mandatory insurance requirement depending on your return date.
