needed or not. When I went, they took everything I had, including the letter. I didn’t have my wife with me. He will have his wife with him. Chances are, he won’t need it. Having one ready doesn’t hurt either.
that’s great, she’ll be there with you. She’ll be able to wait in line with you. Be prepared to stand in a lineup, in the heat. There is a coffee shop and a print shop across the street. But I will warn you, be careful crossing that road. I saw a woman get hit by a motorcycle when I was there. It’s a busy road.
Yes, I’ve done it a couple of months ago.
I would bring all original documents as well. I had all original and a copy of everything. They didn’t ask to see the originals though. I have read, in the past where some were asked to show all originals as well. Better to be over prepared.
Check the website and make sure you have everything you need for the Non-O. One thing they don’t mention is the letter from you wife. I just had her state she wanted them to issue me the one year multiple entry non-o. It doesn’t have to be a long letter, just something they states she wants you here in Thailand.
Make sure you have copies of everything. If she took your last name, make sure you have those documents too. It’s a one day turn around for the visa. Drop off everything one day, pick up the next afternoon.
The only two different visas are the tourist and non-o. They both take the same anoint of time to receive. I’m pretty sure the non-o is easier for you as you’re married to a Thai. The tourist visa requires bank statements if I remember correctly.
If you’re using a marriage certificate form Canada, it’s going to have to be translated into Thai. You’re able to pay in Thai baht. If you’re looking for the multiple entry, you have to write that in at the top as it’s not listed but they do give it. I was there a couple of months ago and did all this.
not true. There’s a rule, only 2 land border crossings in a calendar year. It’s unlimited by air. But, if you’re abusing the visa exempt stamp, the immigration officer will eventually start to ask question. That exempt stamp isn’t for living in Thailand.
man, I hear ya!!! I’m by far a rich person. But I can make my life here in Thailand much easier then I can back home, Canada. The western world is way to expensive these days. My wife and I live ok here. I don’t work here, wish I could because of boredom. My wife goes to work everyday while I do my thing at home. The thais have a miscommunication that all farang are rich. No!! I’m happy and I can have a better life here then back home.
that is very true. They don’t fight fair, that’s for damn sure. I’ve seen my fare share of taxi drivers fights. And 99% of the time others jump in. Fighting one shouldn’t be a problem. It’s the other 5 with sticks, bottles, knives etc that you have to worry about. I just try and keep a smile on my face and either tell them no or take their ride.
that is true, pick your battles. But from my experience, those taxi drivers are pretty docile when they are alone. It’s when they’re around other drivers and their friends when they seem to puff out their chest.
sounds like we have a lot in common. But when I listen to my wife talk, I try and pick up on certain words. Then I try and piece it together. I’ll ask her about something and she’ll break it down for me. If I remember, good. If I forget, oh well lol.
I don’t have the dedication either man. I have so much free time most days, I should be fluent by now. I would rather go for a walk and go to the gym.
I’ve listened to podcasts etc as well. I try repeating what’s said, then again, it’s hard to have the pronunciation 100% that way too. If you’re somewhat serious about it, it’ll come to you. Spending time here helps a lot.
bang on!!! Exactly!! They don’t want to work. That’s the reason they give such an out of this world price. But, they will do the work for the crazy price. Trust me, there are a lot of people I’ve seen just say ok and they pay the price. Either they don’t know or don’t care. Up to them!
