I’m not sure which way to go about with my up coming trip to Thailand to visit my wife.
I’m a Canadian passport holder. I’m married to a Thai national.
My previous trips have consist of me there for only 30 days or less. I did one extension 2 years ago. That’s over the past 5 years or so.
My trip is pretty much open for about three months. I’m not really required to come back home. I just need to get away from this cold winter.
I don’t really know my return date so I was thinking about buying a one way flight.
My plan was getting a single entry visa based on marriage here in Canada before I leave. I don’t plan on leaving Thailand while I’m there.
Am I going to run into any problems either trying to leave Canada without a return ticket or at the Thai immigration counter when I arrive there?
Thanks.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is a Canadian passport holder married to a Thai national and is planning a long trip to Thailand. They seek advice on the implications of flying with a one-way ticket and arriving without a return flight. Comments suggest that while a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage is recommended, airlines may require proof of onward travel to board the flight, potentially causing issues during travel.
