I can personally recommend this clinic if you have further need for dermatology services. Dr. Vachiraporn works at Chiang Mai Ram during the day. Going to the clinic eliminates hospital related charges, which at CM Ram add up quickly.
Unless something's changed since April of this year the Canadian Consulate office in Chiang Mai (superhighway) will issue an income letter assuming you meet the threshold for 1,250 baht.
Use the address of a friend or family member to maintain a banking connection in Canada.
Note - Ontario has a 2 year residency exemption available for our provincial health care plan coverage (OHIP). Not sure about BC. That would negate the need for a 3 month wait to get back on provincial health care train if you decided to come back for any reason.
