The Three Tourism Entry Proofs

- proof of accommodation for at least your first few nights (hotel booking or a letter of invite from a Thai)

- proof of onward travel (international travel ticket leaving Thailand within your initial entry stamp exit by date)

- proof of funds (20,000 Baht or equivalent in any major currency in CASH per individual, or 40,000 for a family)

exactly, when it was 30 days on entry there was a limit of two land border bounces per calendar year so something is not right here

but you live with the fear of Immigration knocking your door one day, not woth the risk to "save" a few thousand Baht

yes but some Immigration Offices may require you to take the 30 day Tourisn Extension first

Because it was temporary measure and a Tourist Visa still gives you 60 days on entry and the option to extend for another 30

There is no 2 entries per year rule since the 60 day VE came in

and a METV can get you over 8 months stay in Thailand ;)

You convert your Extension of Stay on the day of your divorce or leave Thailand. Don't count on the "Extension denied, 7 days to leave Thailand" stamp as you should have planned your stay status in advance of the divorce, a divorce doesn't just happen overnight.

Why haven't you considered a DTV as a dependent?
