That's the thing.

The Norwegian Embassy in Thailand will stop providing this from May 2026, and people are looking for alternatives.

Just trying to get all the information and help figure out alternatives for people.

It is however completely new news to me that many offices are not accepting monthly transfers ( or certificates? ) for extensions based on marriage. That is wild.

It is a general question.

I was under the impression it was 1 single transfer a month with the minimum amount.

But others say it's fine with multiple as long as the total is equal to or above the minimum amount.

It's not for me personally.

I don't need to show any financial proof for my extension of stay.

The application-pages specifically state that you need to wait in the country where you applied.

Some don't and do just fine.

Some don't and don't do fine because they get called in for interviews or need to show up to date proof of location.

Stay put. Don't waste your money.

I changed my number to a pre-pay plan back home and kept the SIM.

Dual SIM phones are a thing. And there is also eSIMs

The only reason I'd change from DTV to Non-O marriage is if I was aiming for Thai Citizenship. Or making a legit business in Thailand. Or a combination of those two. :P

Get a DTV, and figure out the last 3 years when you get that far.

It is always the landlords responsibility.

If they don't want the hassle, they should give their tenants the login to do it themselves.
