unbelievable, immigration are ruthless 😡

To give you perspective on this.

And to save you a wasted trip.

You have no chance.

I had cervical disc fusion on 3 levels of my spine, recovery time was lengthy to say the least.

I had receipts of how much was paid, letters from the surgeon, everything!

Immigration denied the medical extension and were very rude.

You need to be half dead or even plain dead to get that medical extension.

ok, well good luck with your plans and enjoy yourselves.

I think u should completely reevaluate that idea.

I live in Thailand and have done for 10yrs now having fortunately retired at 38yrs old.

I have known many foreign teachers and scuba diving instructors working here over the years.

A year ish in Thailand goes quick and it will not be the experience and fun that in your mind u imagine it to be.

Firstly u will be paid by foreign standards a very low wage and expected to do a lot of work leaving u not much free time to do much.

As for your bf no chance at getting a job without any decent qualifications because even with decent qualifications opportunities for foreigners working in Thailand are very limited.

May I offer you a suggestion, make a pact with your boyfriend that from right now for 1 year you will both work your butts off in your home country, no partying, no buying gadgets expensive clothes, no anything, work, eat cheaply and save everything single bit of money u possibly can.

And then come to Thailand and other parts of South East Asia and both enjoy your experience by having the times of your lives going where u want, when u want and spending all that money that u saved by being frugle and having 1 boring year to create the opportunity to have the next year that you both will remember for the rest of your lives.

Working in Thailand will not and is not the dream experience people dream it to be!

Just a suggestion no ill will intended.

oh ok.

I just read the word wealthy pensioner visa and normally wealthy people don’t need to work.

I live in Thailand I never use the word wealthy because I am not but I also do not need to work ever again and I am 49yrs old and will get the retirement visa in 6 months in country using the 800k in a bank account process.

Anyway good luck but like others have said Thailand has its own varying rules and they may just not want u living in Thailand and working.

With every year that passes there is more and more distaste for foreigners that are working even digitally in Thailand.

Perhaps another country would be a better fit for u.

Why don’t you just enter country on tourist visa or visa on arrival if u are eligible and then apply for normal retirement visa in country with the 800k in Thai bank account.

To me it seems a simple answer to your problem 🤔

You are aware that immigration often monitors these discussion pages.

You cannot be the full penny or maybe a little simple.

U should not to of advertised what u planned to do.

Now you could find that you are flagged when u enter Thailand and then you will see the word ban start to be discussed by immigration if they pull u aside upon re-entry.

Very silly indeed.

Is it just a pinched nerve or are you talking about compressed nerve due to disc rupture and cervical spine degeneration?

A pinched nerve can over time dislodge and pain disapears.

You need to be more specific on your problem.

I have had cervical disc fusion on 3 spine levels using titanium plates and screws in Thailand.

U should be more specific.

not exemption, extension.

1’900bt at Thai immigration office.

You go before your current 60 days expires and an extra 30 days is added to the expiry date of your current 60 day stay.

I don’t think anyone including myself is suggesting that they only have exactly 800k in the bank without any activity for 1 year or more.

Just use the account as normal with deposits and withdrawals and payments going in and out but just never letting the account fall below 810,000.

It’s easy.
