Barclaycard REWARDS card is free of foreign currency charges. I can get one next time I'm in uk. The Platinum card used to be similarly free but teo years ago that changed

I'm focusing on debit card cash advance because my uk starling card is zero fees for foreign transactions. I just wanna use this debit to avoid local transaction costs and I understand it's possible. I will try it and post an update

Re credit card ...my old barclaycard had a promotion for three years...the bank in philippines happily gave me cash advance thirty times or more over three years. They were happy doing it cos they imagine it will be profitable when Barclaycard （visa） hit me with massive interest charges. So that was great. Never any problem. Of course I instantly made GBP payments to barclaycard of the exact transaction value in GBP same day using the app. Never incurred a single penny charge from Barclaycard ever. Their promo charged interest per day on outstanding balance but my balance would be ￡500 for less than one hour. NO CHARGES. you need to check with your card provider what their charges are but in UK starling is free of foreign transaction charges. Barclays have introduced another new card too. Worth checking that. I'll get it next time I'm back in uk.
