was bank account promised? no. was it restricted? yes. is it dumb? 100%.

what can we do? well, complain and/or adapt.

would be more useful if you provided step by step instruction how to file a complaint, with some generic template.

with knowledge about how thai bureaucracy tends to solve problems, they'd rather change dtv rules to limit it to 180d/yr than allowing bank accounts for dtv.

keep us updated about the response from bank of thailand, i bet it will be as easy as "soriiii, not caaan"

Chris Pul thank you for detailed explanation of how it works in regulated world. you assume that DTV holder cant obtain tax residency, that is 100% incorrect: tax residency is about "180+ days/year in Thailand", and nothing more. Visa does not matter, re-enter/border run does break your tax residency obligation.

> you need to leave and reenter before tax residency would apply

wrong too: there is no 180+days IN THE ROW requirement. just 180+ days, with any breaks within. after your border run/re-enter it will be 181, 182, 183 days a year.

Anonymous participant 680 good luck with finding your crypto utopia world then. try find the alternative universe with crypto-positive employers, landlords, shops, and have fun with these infinite conversions, exchanges, regulations. good luck with proving crypto-income income for some visa too. im out of it.

for me it is the last resort, when all normal options will be exhausted.

Tony Nara account itself works, i can withdraw funds using debit card (until expiry date)/counter. i lost access to the "krungthai next" app access, so no notifications, no transfers, no qr payments, no paying bills using normal banking app.

partially can be solved using truemoney
