Anonymous participant 741 I changed my address recently. They took copies of passport again, the visa page and the entrance stamp. I am sure they would be fine with a DL for passbook update. Changing address they also updated my visa change eand I had to sign all passport pages copied. If you are updating your phone do they not want to see it is tied to your passport?
Anonymous participant 627 There is an expat claiming he had his account frozen suddenly on a Retirement Visa. I would bet he opened it on a Visa Exempt / TR and never updated it. This was probably due to how it would work with agents. They would open the account on TR/VE, apply for 90 day O. During the 90 day transfer in the 800k and get bank documents. Then use then for 12 months extension. If bank details were not updated then it looked like account under a VE/TR
Anonymous participant 741 You have not witnessed a foreigner denied boarding on a domestic flight then - my pal did as they only had their Thai driving licences and not passport. We were discussing this the other week about just carrying our DL's. As for bank they take copies of visa etc - they want to see you are legally in the country - how does a DL do that?
Anonymous participant 627 This is what has happened with both my accounts. Unless I went in and updated something like address etc the bank had the old details. I have not heard of them getting sophisticated on this such as the "B" expiring and the bank asking for updated details. However, if the previous visa was a tourist visa they may be asking for updates.
Anonymous participant Are they asking 1) To prove you left Thailand or 2) A flight out after DTV period is up? - were you in Indonesia when you applied?
CapableCelery590 No. Applications apply through the eVisa website just like everyone else. The DTV is an MFA visa and Immigrstion have nothing to do with it until entry and extensions. I was being a bit facetious regarding agents and contacts. I think it is obvious some do with regard to the DTV.
