I would advise you to get a letter from your GP confirming that he is on the medication 💊 he carries.

I always get one of those letters before I travel to Thailand . 🇹🇭I have never been questioned but it would be a real shame if your son was denied entry because of such a trivial thing.

It will be up to to the Immigration Officer 👮processing your son’s visa and of course customs, if they find drugs - albeit legitimate - to potentially take action.

My recommendation, please get a letter of confirmation from your GP.

I would say the best option would be to fly in on a 60 day free entry.

Then, get an agent (I can help you) to open a Thai Bank account and after that (including your deposit 💵 into said account), apply for a Retirement visa inside Thailand.🇹🇭

Each branch (within the same Bank) has different procedures. I guess it depends on how strict the bank manager is… Similarly, where I live, you can buy booze all day at 7 and Tops Daily. But not at Mini Big C where they adhere to the official hours.

Btw, my agent charged me 1,000B.

The reason it’s so difficult to open bank accounts these days is due to AML legislation.

I also needed to supply a copy of last year’s Tax Return from Australia 🇦🇺. Bangkok Bank, Bophut, Koh Samui 2 weeks ago.

Last time I went for an extension in Samui (early June), I was in and out in 18 minutes.

Nowadays, since I retired, I spend more time in Thailand 🇹🇭 than what I do in Australia 🇦🇺.
