I’m trying to apply for a tourist visa in the uk , I’ve filled in all the relevant information twice and each time this message has come up . I definitely have not “left this page unattended for more than 20 minutes.” It’s been taking me about 12 minutes to complete it , it’s got me baffled. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is experiencing time-out issues while trying to apply for a UK tourist visa online, despite working quickly. Community responses suggest several troubleshooting tips such as switching browsers (preferably to Chrome), regularly saving progress, and logging back in if the session times out. Others recommend waiting until closer to the travel date to apply for the visa, as applications can become invalid if issued too early. The discussion also touches on the reliability of Thai government websites and the possibility of those seeking longer stays considering long-term visa options.
Thanks for all the info guys, it’s the first time that I’m applying for a tourist visa normally I only go for the four weeks, I’m planning on staying longer this time hence the 60 days +30 days. I’ll definitely try again nearer the time. I’m retiring this year and would love to stay long term so that’s another challenge deciding which visa to apply for. There’s so much info to digest regarding long term visa but I’m sure I’ll get there in the end.
I heard you can’t apply for the extension until you’re 60 days is almost up and to apply in person. Some people have been told it’s to early to apply even when they’ve been in Thailand for a month.
Just do it the old fashioned way at the Embassy. Thai government websites have been notoriously bad for years. All government websites. Cambodia's "E-System" works perfectly though. If only Thailand could dispense with "face", they could copy Cambo's system. Won't happen though. LOL
Maybe a bit to early to apply. A tourist visa is valid for 90 days after it’s issued from your embassy/consulate and processing time in London is normally two-three days.
I just bought a return ticket as the rule changed so I counted on just 30 days rather than pay for a date change. Then the government has 2nd thoughts.
