I’m not sure I understand this either. Are you saying a person can work any job (except those are prohibited) as long as they have a work permit of some sort?
I feel your pain dude. I actually had all my paperwork together and still got fined (and also fined for 3 days overstay which immigration advised me to do) because Chaeng Watthana and Samut Prakan immigration don’t know how to read a map. They both just kept insisting I lived in the other jurisdiction and refused to file my paperwork lol. Whole process cost me about 8,000 baht including taxis back and forth and took 9 days. Good luck.
a lot of people freak out here but I’ve found most of the IOs to be pretty reasonable if you have a legitimate explanation and proof to back it up. Also helps if you are polite, dressed well, and keep a level head. Just cover your bases and smile 😀
Do you have a copy of your offer letter? It may or may not help but I would think of you told the IO that you are waiting on your job paperwork and show them the signed offer letter (your acceptance) that they might be a little more lenient. Good luck and congrats on the job.
For real. I always read these threads even when they don’t apply to me directly. I can’t tell you how much I have learned or had clarified by your comments
