Hi there...thx for accepting me.
Some advice please...
I am ending a 1 year ED visa on 22/3/19 and was offered a job on Monday, so just started work permit process.
I have a South African passport and my original ED visa was voided in Penang a year ago. I had to fly in and organise it in Phuket .
That's why I'm wary of paying a lot for a visa run and 2/3 month tourist visa. They might refuse after an ED visa and with the VOID stamp in my passport.
I want to fly out of Phuket and then back in to get a visa exemption for 30 days upon arrival...
(this is while my work permit stuff gets sorted out)
1. Is this still a possibility?
2. Which countries to fly to where they will stamp my passport for entry without a visa before flying back?
Thanks a lot
TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat with a South African passport is seeking advice on leaving Thailand after their ED visa ends and returning to obtain a 30-day visa exemption. They are concerned about their previous ED visa being voided and the implications of that on their re-entry. Comments suggest that while it is possible to seek entry again, caution is advised, with recommendations for a land crossing to Laos instead of flying due to potential denial risks.
