Apparently, you cannot do any changes to your work permit (you have to obtain a new work permit if you want to do changes) and cannot work under any category of work that is not prohibited (as long as you have a work permit) in Bangkok, as I was said by the Labour dept.(This is a new law as they said)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A new law in Thailand states that one cannot make changes to their existing work permit; a new work permit must be obtained for any alterations. As long as individuals hold a proper work permit, they are permitted to work in any job that is not explicitly prohibited by law.

I’m not sure I understand this either. Are you saying a person can work any job (except those are prohibited) as long as they have a work permit of some sort?

I know many foreigners where it’s not a issue and they are in Bangkok. No amendments since April 2018. Did you read the whole article. The announcement came from Bangkok’s labor dept and it’s the law.

Google is your friend.

Are you sure that there were no amendments done after april 2018 and the officials follow it in bangkok? Do you know any foreigner who followed it in bangkok recently
Greg *******
The only thing he is not correct on is he suggest to register the change. The labor department won’t accept the application to register the change of work as it’s no longer required to do so. They will just wave you away. “No need “
