I don't see many women jumping in with advice, so allow me...If any of your body parts are NOT Asian-sized (and by that I mean teeny tiny), then you should bring large quantities of bras, cotton underwear (impossible to find here unless you like granny panties), and SHOES. on whether they're authentic or knock-offs. Besides all that, make sure you have your visa situation locked down, as well as housing that allows pets, because that's difficult to find here. Keep your cats indoors because they won't have immunities to the viruses here, along with all the other dangers like soi dogs, snakes, and motorbikes/cars. Hua Hin is a good "starter city." I think you'll love it!

Yes, that's a lot of cash to carry, but maybe I see it differently because I'm a woman. We have to be more self-aware for our own safety. And yes, I know Thailand is one of the safer places in the world. Cheers!
I would add to that, Make sure the lease states that the owner/landlord is responsible for the cost of repairs to major appliances included in the rental fee. I had to back out of a lease once because the owners would not include that, and voiced that I would have to pay.
