Sounds like Siam Legal doesn't have a clue. There is no "5 month tourist visa". There is a "Multiple Entry Tourist Visa" which can be obtained in a persons home country IF it has a Thai embassy or consulate, i.e. not available for everyone.

VOAs can not be extended. Sorry.

"She's coming for 2 months"

That right there says "get a tourist visa in advance", which will also smooth over any problems with airline check-in. Thai immigration on arrival is not usually a problem.

It's not a "visa" it's a border pass, which costs 500b (or $10 if you're lucky) and limits your travel to Myawaddy. A real Myanmar (e)visa can otherwise be done online @

The form looks outdated. Double and triple entry tourist visas stopped a couple years ago.

You can report 14 days before or 7 days after. I'd say do it early.

By air there's no set limit, 2 times you'll be okay =)

It's actually a visa exemption not voa, and if entering by land you're limited to 2 times per year.

Where's Waldo? (and Yingluck, and "Boss", etc.)? Their whereabouts remain a "mystery". Yeah right, bollocks.

VOA = 15 days not extendable. Visa-exemption (by air or land) = 30 days + can extend 30 days 1900 baht at immigration.
