Hi, im looking at doing a border bounce driving myself, im located in Hua Hin, any advice on the best option to do the border cross, will have the Thai wife with me so communication is ok, just looking at the simplest scenario.

Hi there, again. We're waiting to hear if we can actually get our 60 days visa extension - we have an METV and are currently in Ranong. Waiting to hear back from immigration ( I rang them last week,at the request of our hotel for details etc). They said then that they couldn't see any problems but obviously needed to see our docs etc first. We're now trying to sort out travel arrangements for tomorrow morning, to go to immigration ( no appointment necessary) but we've just been told that they might only issue 30 days, which doesn't really help us and defeats the object of having an METV in the first instance. Should this be the case, does anyone know where we would need to go to in Malaysia to sort this out? I know we don't need a visa for Malaysia but where's the nearest point of entry from Ranong and do you have to make an appointment first? We need to leave Thailand by 29.01. Thank you once again for any advice or help.

Is Ranong the only option for border run in Myanmar? Mae Sot and Mae Sai still closed? Any other usable border crossing?

Hi; on my first visa run I went to arranyaprathet (not been here a few yrs) and was refused same day return and a red stamp detailing this in thai was entered into pp and flew back

2nd time I went to Ranong for land crossing.

Question is, I wonder if the first refused attempt will be counted as a cancelled entry, and uses up one of these land entries? Thanks

Hi there.. Just a quick update. We extended our METV for 30 days today at Bluport. Too busy yesterday so we got there at 9.30 this morning,along with a few others. Immigration opened 20 mins early and we had everything completed by 11.00am. Record! We know need to leave the kingdom by the 29th January and are definitely considering driving to Ranong and catching the ferry over and doing it by ourselves. ( For our 60 day visa to be activated). Will this be simple enough to do? Is it worth it spending a few nights in Myanmar or just getting our Visa and having a little break back in Thailand. Thank you.

Good morning. Has anyone done the Ranong/Club Andaman border bounce in the last few days? I am reading conflicting information re this run. If this run is open, any information and advice would be greatly appreciated. I am currently in Phuket and will be driving north next week via Ranong. I am an Australian passport holder arrived 25 September on a 60 day tourist visa with a 30 day extension which expires 23 December. I do not have a return flight home yet as I was hoping to stay in Thailand until early to mid February. So was wanting to come back into Thailand on a visa exempt and then apply for a 30 day extension. I have not done a land border crossing before so this will be a first for me. Hope someone can help me with info or advice.
