You can get a non o, or just come on visa exemption and convert to non o here, easiest if using an agent, to do that.. Better to get non o, so you don't need an agent to help open a bank account

Then get an extension based on marriage or retirement.

Married extensions only need 400,000 baht in an account, but they need a lot more paperwork proving that you are still living together... Retirement extensions are easier.

Just go immigration with passport and pay 1900baht.

Most places, they do everything for you. Not sure if you need a passport sized photo

last time I sent money home, I think 2018, there was a new rule, that to send money out, you needed a work permit... Only way I could do it was via a Western Union transfer, in Bangkok Bank. I had to withdraw the cash, then goto the western union counter to do the transfer, but It wasn't allowed to send to an account of the same name, so I had to send to my dad and he transferred to my account. Not sure what the rules are now.

Thing is, with a 50,000 baht in-country transfer limit, how can you buy a car or condo?

you need to do as soon as possible. You might get lucky and they fix it, but in the past, they would only correct it if you spotted the error at the time...
