What are the requirements for traveling to Cambodia and re-entering Thailand with a non-O visa?

I am coming to Thailand with a non-O visa, valid for 90 days, applied from Belgium. I must complete the TDAC form no later than three days before arriving in Thailand. Upon arrival in Thailand, I must report to immigration within 24 hours with a TM30 document. With my passport and proof of residence, I can open a bank account with the aim of applying for a one-year extension. My question: If, during my 90-day stay in Thailand, I travel to Cambodia with my girlfriend for a week and then return to Thailand, do I need to complete a new TDAC form before arriving in Cambodia and also before returning to Thailand? Do I need to have a new TM30 document completed upon returning to Thailand? Will my non-O visa remain valid? Do I need to report to immigration again? Thank you in advance for the information.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you travel to Cambodia during your 90-day stay in Thailand on a non-O visa, you will need to complete a new TDAC form for your return to Thailand. Your non-O visa is a single entry type; upon leaving Thailand, it becomes invalid unless you obtain a re-entry permit beforehand. Additionally, you will need a new TM30 document filed upon your return, reporting your residence again to immigration. Each time you return, your host or hotel should submit a TM30.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Have the right visa already to extend for a retirement visa I wouldn't be jeopardizing it by going to Cambodia have you seen the problems they're having with Thailand at the moment bad idea

i’m not sure you can even get into Cambodia from Thailand right now

Stuart Cumming the tdac is a thai arrival card, no need to complete for entry to cambodia, but will need to do on re-entry to Thailand. Gives you something to do while sat waiting for your flight...

The TM30 needs to be filed every time you return home, if a TM30 has been filed at a hotel somewhere else in Thailand, or if you leave and re-enter thailand.

Didn’t read the bit about before entering Cambodia, just read it as on return.

The TM30 bit is dependent on the immigration office. Some insist if you stay in a hotel and return home, some only if you go overseas and return home and some don’t care if you’re returning to your home whether you’ve stayed in a hotel or returned from abroad.

I don’t know the policy for Udon Thani.

It used to be if you stay out of province, overnight, but now it's whenever the system gets updated, for example, when a hotel takes your passport and files a tm30, the system gets updated with their address, so needs re-updating with your home addresd when you get home. Only really an issue for 90 day reports or bank and driving license applications.

I use my Pink ID at hotels in Thailand, rather than my passport, so no need to file a TM30 when I get home. Many hotels accept Thai driving licenses as ID

Again it’s office dependent. In Phuket for example the need a new filing if the system has been updated as you state. In some other offices they don’t.

Non-O is valid for one entry

If you leave Thailand during the 90 days

It becomes useless

unless you purchase a re-entry permit before leaving

The TDAC is completed for every arrival. It's an arrival card.

TDAC is no earlier than 3 days not later than 👍

TDAC is free and completed no earlier than 72 hours. So between 72 hours and landing, because there are desks where you can complete it at the airport in thailand. It is much better to do before you fly.

My last trip to Thai (July 3. 2025) , I saw about 20 people doing their TDAC on the spot. There were 4 ATM like machines for that. Possible, functional but less convenient than if you had it before entering Thai.

And how would that help the OP?

Your 90 day visa is a single entry visa. Once you enter Thailand you no longer have a visa. It’s used. Finished.

What you have is an entry stamp allowing you to stay for 89 further days (entry day is day 1).

If you want to leave and keep that entry stamp “alive” you’d need a re-entry permit. On return you’d be stamped in for the exact date you were originally given.

Each entry needs a TDAC. Each time you return your house owner (or hotel) should in theory file a TM30.

where can I get a re-entry permit
Robert *****
@Rudi **********
at the airport immigration office, not cheap, single entry is around 1200, multiple entry 4000. A better plan might be to settle your 1 year Non O extension first and include multiple entry. Then you're free to go when and where you please, and have everything done in one shot.

At a local immigration office or if flying out via an international airport then at the airport itself just before you fly.

I have to report to immigration within 24 hours with the TM30 form, so I can immediately apply for a re-entry permit.

@Rudi **********
You can get a re-entry permit at anytime prior to leaving. If that’s day one or on the day you fly doesn’t matter. If you do it at an immigration office they’ll probably want to see that you’ve had a TM30 filed. If at an airport they won’t care.

You don’t have to report to immigration. Your house owner reports you as staying at their property (TM30). If it’s a hotel they’ll usually do it by default. If a private house then that house owner can either report in person to your local office or just do it online which takes a couple of minutes.
