Fairtex Muay Thai is offering visas for 40,000 baht, 6 months, for students. Is this legit/normal? Expensive?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 40,000 baht fee for a 6-month visa from Fairtex Muay Thai is seen as potentially high, especially if it doesn't include significant training. Many comments suggest that if the package includes genuine Muay Thai training, it could be reasonable. Comparisons were made with other gyms offering less expensive options, which may indicate that Fairtex's price might be on the higher side unless it includes comprehensive training.

20k 6 months and dtv letter in pattaya. Just depends where you want to be, 40k seems a bit much ... But depends on # of classes per week.

The question is: Are you just trying to get a DTV visa? Or are you really going to train Muay Thai? If you are not really interested in training Muay Thai, find a cheaper solution. If you want to train in one best, World known Muay Thai gyms for six months, then 40,000 BAht is a bargain.

Fairtex is a legit gym, one of the most well known gyms in the world. Maybe this package comes with a lot of training bolted on. Not all muay thai DTV courses are the minimum attendance just to secure the visa. Some are bona-fide courses aimed at actual muay thai enthusiasts

If it's just visa and no training I doubt anyone will take it at that price though.

My gym does 1 class a week for 6 months, 15,000 baht. It is enough to secure DTV but we can do more expensive courses for people who want to train more regularly

If that is just for the visa and no classes then it is peng maak maak. You tell Fairfax that their visa is expensive since the DTV. Some places offer a 5 year DTV for a little bit over their price. Tell them they know their visa prices is no longer with the times and stop being so stubborn. But knowing how Thai companies work, they would rather go out of business then to lower their prices.

How long are you staying in Thailand for? If it’s less than six months you probably won’t need a visa depending on which country from?

@Dan ******
Id like to stay for 6 months. USA

Also the best option right now isn’t the standard Muay Thai education visa - it’s the destination Thailand visa (DTV) as long as you have proof of funds of 500k THB you can get a 5 year visa

Should I apply on a specific website, or should I just go to a visa company, when I arrive?

you have to apply from outside of Thailand, each consulate has different requirements but they are all quite easy to meet. Might be easiest to do in your home country before leaving đź‘Ť

@Dan ******
how much would the DTV cost? Can the 500k THB be in a home country brokerage account?
Dan *******
@Cruise *****
the DTV cost is 20k THB (approx 550 USD 550 EUR) and yes you can keep the funds in your home country brokerage. The exact requirements differ slightly depending on which Thai consulate you are applying from

If it's with actual classes for 6 months, it's an okay price.
