My wife has a teaching job in a Bangkok international school, so they will provide us with lots of paperwork for the visa application.
She will be applying for the type b visa and me and the children type o visa.
We need to provide bank statements from the last 3 months. This will have to be from our joint account.
We get paid into this account every month and then pay our bills etc Therefore, the balance goes up and down. I knew we would have to show we have sufficient funds, so in May added a much bigger amount than needed from a savings account into this joint account.
So the month of May will show plenty of funds and the other two months will have a fluctuating balance, sometimes dropping below the required amount needed in the account.
I am just checking that this will be sufficient, as I am struggling to find the answer.
Hello! I contacted the Vancouver consulate to get some questions answered about the DTV and they were fairly helpful but still didn't quite answer the question: do I need twice the 500k baht for me and my husband or just 500k for one? They said we can apply as a couple and one of us would need to submit a sponsorship letter because our bank is a joint account. Has anyone had to do that letter? Thanks!
From : [members only] - are the references to 'both' (applicant & spouse) having either the minimum 40,000 income, or having the 400,000 balance correct now ? And is the reference to a '3 month' seasoning of the financial levels correct/ in current use ? Thanks.
Ok, I'm pretty sure thus is what we need to do. We are slowly getting things ready to retire in Thailand. I know we each need our own bank account with 800000tbh each. But I would think we would want a joint account in Thailand to use. So would you recommend us having our own accounts to satisfy the visa needs and keep them over 800000k or just have 3 accounts? Especially knowing it's getting a little harder to open bank accounts
Does my spouse have to have 500k in an account of their own? All of our accounts are joint. Can I submit the same proof for both of us? What about our son? He's under 8. We have an investment account for him but it's not in his name because he's a minor.
Hi DTV squad. Just wanted to ask for recommended service agents to help open a joint Thai account (my wife and I). We both got our DTV and are British. One service agent quoted me 15,000 baht a person and through a Pattaya branch. Seems very expensive! If anyone has had a positive and reasonably priced experience would be grateful to be pointed in the right way. Thank you in advance and apologies if this has posted already!
2 questions…on my Thai bank account I put my friend on my account in case something happens to me he can withdraw the money and send to my family. I read somewhere if two names on the account have to deposit 800,000 bhat x 2= 1.6 mil bhat. For retirement visa. True or false. In USA I can put someone on my account as beneficiary and they show death certificate and they can withdraw funds. Can this be done in Thailand? No trolls pleeeez!
Hi folks, my Thai wife has a Kasikorn account that I have been sending money to. We are planning to buy a house eventually, but I realize she’s not receiving any interest. Are there bank accounts that pay interest as I can get 4 to 5% in US banks. on the next trip to Thailand we’re going to open up a joint account and move the funds into that. What is the normal for interest payments in Thailand?
