My retirement visa will end at mid April, but my rental will end at late June. I don’t plan to continue renew the retirement visa and not willing to leave Thailand until late June. Any way can stay until late June without leaving the country?
For those who have successfully obtained their DTV with a Hong Kong passport.
I’m going to apply in Hanoi soon and would like to ask — as a Hong Kong passport holder, what should I write in the ‘Place of Issue’ field? Should it be ‘China’ (the code of the issuing state) or ‘Hong Kong’ (the issuing authority)? Both are shown on the passport’s bio-data page.
I have a 60 day visa linked to my HK passport and would like to extend. Will I be able to extend for another 30 days or will it follow the visa exempt rules for HK passport (which only allows for a 7 day extension)?
Hi, miscalculated my days. I am on a SETV that expired in Aug 18. I have a HK passport. Is it still possible to pay my fine (500 baht/day) and extend my stay for another 30 days at the immigration office? Alternatively, I will exit for a night. Will there be issues when I try to come back in ? 🙈
I went to the phuket immigration for my extension - but they said I can only do a 7 day extension because my visa is not a tourist visa. So Visa exemption cannot extend another 30 days?
I flew in to Phuket airport from Hong Kong and holds Hong Kong passport.
An interesting Mae Sai border crossing experience: this border is notorious for easy peasy border bounces but my gf is a Hong Kong passport holder and was grilled heavily doing her first ever border bounce and was Asked to show onward travel. (of course it's not unreasonable to ask but in my years here I've never heard this asked for at this crossing)
2 sets of supervisors called to review. Only when I (USA passport) started talking for her did things move forward. Immigration told her "only this time" even though official documents that circulate state that Hong Kong is allowed 2 per year. From what I could understand, I believe the confusion for them was the difference between a mainland China passport and a Hong Kong passport. Luckily, we were prepared and have legitimate travel booked. Made it through after about 20 minutes at the immigration desk.
