TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their Visa-on-Arrival (VOA), which expires on August 6, while their flight is scheduled for August 15. It is clarified that VOA cannot be extended; however, if the user has a visa exemption, they may extend their stay by another 30 days for a fee. Additionally, there is a possibility of a COVID-19 extension available until August 24, but eligibility and approval depend on the local immigration office.
Assuming, as you're from Hong Kong, you have a Hong Kong passport in which case you arrived visa exempt, not visa on arrival. You would have been stamped in for 30 days and that can be extended once by another 30 days at any immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht
thanks man! I will go to the immigration office tomorrow. by the way, look like their office has been relocated to IT Square Laksi Plaza 3rd floor in Bangkok.
First of all, are you on visa on arrival, or visa exempt? I've attached a chart showing which countries get which.
VOA is not eligible for extension.
Visa exempt may be eligible for extension.
Also 9 days is not "just a few more days"
You also may qualify for Covid extension available until August 24th. No one can tell you if you'll actually get a Covid extension except your local immigration office after you apply.
